Construction site visit Cogge school
This project, which also includes the construction of a sports hall, a multi-purpose hall and offices for social services (2,189 m2 of new construction and 1,087 m2 of renovation), is being carried out on a very constrained and congested site, located along the mouth of a branch of the Senne river. It comprises masonry parts but also timber frame walls and metal structural elements (for the cantilevered multipurpose hall).
To achieve the passive standard, emphasis was placed on insulation (which can be up to 48 cm thick in places), triple-glazed frames and excellent airtightness. This insulation required a special study for the retained facades of the existing building, which were lined internally with prefabricated timber frame panels.
