Position of the UPA-BUA within the profession
The UPA-BUA, Royal Professional Union of Architects, is active in both communities and the three regions. It paved the way for the creation of the FAB (Federation of Architects Associations of Belgium) and is represented in its three regional wings: it therefore participates in the actions of the Walloon Union of Architects (UWA), the Architects 'in Brussels (AriB) and the Beroepsvereniging van Architecten (BVA). It hence can act directly or through these bodies in which it takes part (any member of the UPA is automatically affiliated with these bodies).
UPA-BUA members have important mandates in these organizations as well as in the international organizations of which FAB is co-founding: the ACE-CAE (Council of Architects of Europe) and the UIA (International Union of Architects).
